“Bill” Alvin Glen Russel

SMITH, “Bill” Alvin Glen Russel passed away at his residence in Lyons on Friday, December 11, 2020 in his 85th year. Bill is survived by his children John and Sylvia, sister Evelyn “Ev” McNeil (Alex), brothers Don (Shirley) and Wilbur. He was uncle to Bonnie, Stephen, Barb, Phil, Tom, Larry, Laurie and families.  Born in Strathroy, Ontario, son of the late Eleanor Smith. Bill lived in Woodstock for many years and retired from Standard Tube. He worked at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Woodstock as a young man. Bill moved to Lyons 12 years ago. He will be missed by his friends from the Aylmer Sales Arena and from euchre with the South Dorchester Optimist Club.  Bill sold collectable antiques and artwork. A private funeral service was held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home with burial at Necropolis Cemetery.  Due to Covid-19, many of Bill’s Family and good friends couldn’t pay their respects at the funeral home.
