James V. “Jim” Cottrell
Surrounded by the love of his family at Victoria Hospital in London on Monday, April 1, 2019, James V. “Jim” Cottrell, of Tillsonburg passed away in his 76th year. Beloved husband and best friend for nearly 41 years to Joyce (Jenney) (nee Willsey). Loving father of Janis Friedrich (Mark) of Mt. Brydges and Laurie Sebok (Andrew) of Normandale. Proud papa of Kris Sebok (Patricia), Meg Sebok (Chad), Kara Friedrich (Riley) and Renee Friedrich. Dear brother of Robert Cottrell (Cathy) of Port Rowan and Reta Jean Meloche of Tillsonburg. Jim will also be sadly missed by his many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, many friends and his grandpuppy Finnigan. Predeceased by his parents Victor and Mary (MacDonald) Cottrell, his son Jason, sister Anne Smith and mother and father- in-law Clarence and Edna Willsey. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and road trips. But his true passion was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a dedicated employee of Livingston Industries for 47 and a half years. Jim also leaves behind his church family at First Baptist Church. Faith in God was extremely important to Jim. He served on the Deacons Board, Alpha Leadership and on the Prayer Team as a humble servant. The Memorial Service for Jim was held at Ostranders Funeral Home, Tillsonburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Upper Deck would be appreciated by the Cottrell family.
