Daytime RIDE check in Aylmer

Aylmer Police Sergeant Nick Novacich and Constable Cindy Sowa (not pictured) conducted a RIDE check on John Street South in front of the Aylmer fire station in the early afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 9. The officers were checking for impaired drivers and handing out candy canes provided by Steelway Building Systems. Sgt. Novacich said impaired driving can occur on area roads at any time of day. “The timing is right to remind people,” he said, especially since the Christmas season is almost here and Aylmer and other police services in the region would be conducting their Festive RIDE program all though the holidays.
