Youth speed skating wraps for another season

Cecilia Propper, left, Mariska Buro and Madeline Propper (Cecilia’s sister) held hands while doing some warm-up laps before the races began during the last session of the season for the East Elgin Community Complex Youth Speed Skating Club on Wednesday, April 1. A total of 20 skaters participated in this year’s Learn to Speed Skate sessions that run from January to April 1. Participants learned speed skating skills, short track racing strategies and ended the 12-week season with a mini-meet with the goal of increasing their personal best times. The EECC Club was affiliated this year with the London Speed Skating Club.
