That’s a lot of pie!
Out There Creative Therapy volunteer Wendy D’Angelo, left, and Springfield Lioness volunteer Brenda Simons were in charge of handing out the various kinds of fresh made pie for dessert during the second annual Springfield Lioness Community Roast Beef Supper at Malahide Community Place on Saturday, April 23. The pie selection included apple, blueberry, cherry, lemon meringue, pecan, pumpkin and strawberry rhubarb. All proceeds from the dinner went towards Out There Creative Therapy, a charity started by Springfield resident Kellen De Vos that raises money for mental health programs through creative activities and events for people suffering from mental illness, their families and their communities. The supper event included a silent auction of donated items and the showing of the movie 15 Reasons to Live afterwards.
