Peter W. Hoyer

The family of Peter W. Hoyer are deeply saddened to relay news of his passing, with his family by his side on November 15, 2022 at age 71. Peter, eldest son of Walter and Charlotte Hoyer, was born September 14, 1951, came to Canada from Germany in 1952, was raised in Aylmer, Ontario, and resided in Calgary, Alberta. Peter is lovingly remembered by his wife Pat, and his children Michael (Genny), Tristan, and Monika; and his brothers and their families Claus of Barrie, Ontario and Bernhard of Vienna, Ontario.
Peter was an avid naturalist, with a passion for geology, ornithology, and photography. In his retirement he volunteered as a leader for a local bird watching group, a special interest he shared enthusiastically with others. Peter also loved to travel and was an adventurer at heart, with many a “Bucket List” trip checked off in his books.

A celebration of his life will be held in the coming summer of 2023, date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, well wishers are invited to make a donation in his honour directly to their local food bank.
