Dr. Lee Jasper

Jasper, Dr. William Leroy “Lee”, M. Ed., Ph. D, CCC, of St. Thomas passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Marion Jasper (Jibson). Dearly loved father of Dave Jasper (Dawn Furey) of Sparta and Laura Jasper (Tom Pietrangelo) of St. Thomas and their son Scott Pietrangelo (Alison Eastwood). Dear brother of Donna Gilbert (Scott) of Newmarket and Jesse Jasper (Patti) of Yellowknife, NWT. Lovingly remembered by cousin Terry Jasper (Donna), and nephews and nieces Alan Gilbert, Steven Gilbert (Stacey), Janis Gilbert (Mark), Brian Jasper, and Sarah Jasper. Lee was born in Paris, Ontario, on June 4, 1942, son of the late William Roy Jasper and Evelyn Jasper (Stinson). Lee worked as a College Professor, Counsellor, and Human Resources Consultant, before his retirement. He was a member of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary (CCGA), captaining a marine Search and Rescue vessel out of Port Bruce, Ontario on Lake Erie for 14 years as CCGA SAR #194. He was also a member of Fanshawe College Retiree’s Association, and Ontario College Counsellors. Lee enjoyed the outdoors throughout his life with a variety of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, ATVing, snowmobiling, pickleball, and golf.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas, for visitation on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 1-2 p.m. with service to follow at 2 p.m. At a later date, cremation and internment of ashes in Union United Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
