Jordan Pogue

POGUE, Jordan Keith of Calton, ON passed away suddenly on Wednesday July 26, 2023  in his 29th year. Dearly loved son of Robin (Frook) (Pogue) James and the late Keith Pogue (2013). Loved stepson of Roger James. Fiancé of Zahra Talebian. Proud father of Jaxon (born September 15, 2023). Beloved grandson of Mollie and Fred Frook. Survived by his siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by the Talebian family and by his many friends.

Jordan was raised in St Thomas where he pursued an interest in a variety of sports including Kenpo, swim team, soccer, gymnastics, golf, football and lacrosse – but it was hockey that won his heart. He started with a house league team in Belmont just after Christmas when he was seven (his first game was also his first time on skates) and within a month he was already playing up on the travel team for the next age group. After two years in Belmont he moved on to playing for the St. Thomas Stars travel team then the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs and the Chatham Cyclones. Jordan also played for his high school team the St. Joe’s Rams as well as numerous other Spring and Summer teams both locally and in the USA. It was particularly special to him when his Papa was able to be his coach. Jordan’s name frequently appeared in the Aylmer and St. Thomas newspapers for his various athletic accomplishments but his favourite was a headline after he scored three hat tricks in a single game! He also developed an eclectic taste in music, listening to everything from Mozart and Johnnie Cash to Eminem and Hillsong Worship.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his Life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, 5 Queen St. N., Aylmer, Ontario, where visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 6-9 p.m. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1 p.m. Those wishing to honour Jordan’s memory might consider making a donation via an e-transfer
