Mr. Max Ferguson

Mr. Max Ferguson of Springfield, passed away suddenly at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, June 8, 2018 in his 90th year. Max was an electrician for 50 years and farmed near Springfield all of his life.  He was a former 4H and Junior Farmers member.  He spent a number of years in his younger days providing “Music by the Ferguson Brothers” with Carl and Ross at various neighbourhood events.  Max was a devoted and active choir member and a deacon of the Springfield Baptist and Bethesda Baptist Churches and sang in the London Singers choir for 8 years. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on the Pickerel River, where he loved to fish and spend time with his family and friends.  Beloved husband of Evelyn (Robinson) Ferguson. Loving father of Denyse Ferguson, Mark Ferguson and Janyce Baigent (Darin). Cherished grandfather of Sarah, Heather and Andrew. Predeceased by his sister, Mildred Ferguson (2017), and by his brothers, Carl Ferguson (1998) and Ross Ferguson (2008). A private family funeral service will be held in the Chapel. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and welcomes and encourages visits to the farm in the coming days.  Memorial donations to Bethesda Baptist Church, Delhi can be made at the Murphy Funeral Home, Delhi (519) 582-1290 and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.  Philippians 1:21 “For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
