John Straub

John Straub, resident of Vienna, Ontario. Born in 1933 in Siwatz, Yugoslavia. Immigrated to Canada in 1960 from Austria. Survived by wife Freda (nee Lauterbach), daughter Hildegard, son Steve, granddaughter Krista Waslowski, grandsons Craig and Christopher Waslowski. Predeceased by father Stefan, mother Maria, sisters Maria Honig and Barbra Straub all of Austria.

A former employee of Livingston Industries and Gilvesy Construction. Due to cruel outside intervention dad’s health took a dramatic change in August 2006. He was obligated to become a resident of Maple Manor Nursing Home. John was passionate about all creatures great and small. He was an ardent auction enthusiast. He would give his life for his family and home which he built.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6 (519) 842-5221. The funeral service for John will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Ostrander’s Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Any donations to the Ontario Landowner Association are greatly appreciated by the family and can be done by contacting the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff at Maple Manor for the excellent care extended to John.
