Larry Smith

Loran Walter “Larry” Smith passed peacefully on November 9, 2024 at the age of 82, surrounded by loving family at Extendicare Tecumseh.

Larry was the beloved husband of late Deanna Kay Smith, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. He is survived by his sons, Michael Smith (Susan Knight) and Jeff (Lisa) Smith. Leaving behind his cherished granddaughters Natasha Smith, Bryanna Smith, Hailey Schincariol, Emma Schincariol and Morgan Smith.

Larry was born on May 22, 1942 to parents Marjorie and Walter Smith of Port Bruce, Ontario.

Larry left a significant mark though his intelligence, caring nature and dedication to his community. He dedicated many years to his education as a Professor of Tool and Die at St. Clair College, where he influenced numerous students with his expertise and mentorship. Beyond his professional life, he was deeply involved in his community as a lifetime member at the Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach and served as a former Councillor of The Village of St. Clair Beach Council.

A memorial visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor, ON) on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., with a service in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. An online viewing of the funeral service can be streamed from windsorchapel.com
