Muriel Carrel

Carrel, Muriel Jeanne of Aylmer passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was 96 years old. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Carrel(2023) of 67 years. Dear mother of Bob and Suzanne Carrel. Loving and proud grandmother of Katie Vis(Kevin), Crystal Colley(Jamie), Kim Kremers(Marc), Holly Marr(Tyler) and Heather Carrel(Matt). She will be missed by her great-grandchildren Karson, Kailynn, Klayton, Kaden, Leah, Avery, Haylee, Adrian, Nolan and Luke. Aunt of Wayne Hiepleh(late Wendy). Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Janet Hiepleh(Keith). Born in Malahide Township, Ontario on June 5, 1929, daughter of the late Arthur and Edith May(Holliday) Howe. Muriel will be fondly remembered for her radiant smile and her warm, welcoming nature. A dedicated volunteer since the opening of Terrace Lodge, she served as President of the Terrace Lodge Auxiliary, managed the tuck shop, and was dedicated to organizing afternoon teas. It was only fitting that she eventually made Terrace Lodge her home; a place where she had given so much of her time and heart. Muriel truly cherished being part of the community she helped build. Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 5-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation-burial, Delmer Cemetery.
