Cornelius Wiebe
Wiebe, Cornelius of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. He was 80 years old. Beloved husband of Margaret (Boldt) Wiebe. Loving son of the late Jacob and Katharina Wiebe (Bolivia). Dear brother of the late infants, Cornelius and Jacob, (Mexico); Elisabeth, (late Abram, Bolivia) Froese; Katharina, (late Isaac, Bolivia) Rempel; Margaretha, (late Peter, Bolivia) Loepky; late Maria and Heinrich Gröning, Bolivia; and Jacob (Helena) Wiebe, Bolivia.
Cornelius was born in Campo #10, Cuauhtemoc, Chih, Mexico on May 25, 1945. On July 10, 1966, he married Margaret. In their 59 years of marriage, they were blessed with 6 children: Tina (Pete), Anna, Cornie (Trudy), Margie (Jacob), Helen (John), and James; 25 grandchildren: Loreen, Larry, Rosalyn, Victor, Rachel, Joseph, Fenton, Karen, Tristan, Braden, Jasmine, Jordan, Brianna, Daryl, Tammy, Brendan, Jelena, Ryan, Richard, Allen, Shaun, Riley, Preston, Marshall, and Keaton; and 6 great-grandchildren: Judah, Emerson, Lydia, Emilia, Seana, and Edmund. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 grandson.
Cornelius was a pioneer at heart, inventing and fixing many things. He enjoyed cooking and celebrating life with food and homemade ice cream. He was a people person and thrived on connecting with individuals across the globe in the later years, especially via WhatsApp. Cornelius will be missed by much family, and many friends. A public viewing will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home in Aylmer. A celebration of life will be held at the Straffordville EMC on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm. A private family burial at the Aylmer Cemetery will precede the service.
