Gwen Van Acker

Van Acker, Gwen, formerly of Aylmer, passed away peacefully at Manor Village, London, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of the late Julien Van Acker (2010) and the late Frazer Rule (1979). Cherished mother of Bradley Rule (Kerri) of Port Bruce and Gregory Rule (Melanie) of Toronto, and step-mother to Brian Van Acker (Carol), Larry Van Acker (Lynn), Steve Van Acker (Annalyn), Rory Van Acker (Cindy), and Michelle Wieler (Frank) (d. 2022). Gwen will be lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, particularly her grandson Kurtis who provided dedicated support during her later years of care.

Born in Arthur, Ontario, on May 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Ethel (Mars) Rayfield and sister to the late Belvena Potts and Ralph Rayfield. Gwen served as the manager of the Aylmer District Credit Union for many years and worked in the Carnation plant office. A devoted member of Trinity Anglican Church, she found joy in singing with the choir, being a part of her community and had a special love for her dogs.

Visitation will be held at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer, on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Springfield Cemetery.
