Hilda Moritz
Moritz, Hilda of Aylmer passed away peacefully at AgeCare Aylmer on Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was 95 years old. Beloved wife of the late Walter Moritz (2014). Cherished mother of Heidi Van Overloop and husband Carl of Aylmer. Sister of Gerhard (Carol), Waldi (Rosi), Alfred (Margaret) and Renate “Jeanette” (John) and sister-in-law of Elli. Born in Lithuania on December 16, 1929, daughter of the late Johann and Emma (Reif) Wishnewski.
Hilda was a woman of remarkable determination and an unwavering work ethic. In her years of good health, she embraced an active lifestyle; planting flowers, tending to her garden, and welcoming family, friends, and neighbours into her home with warmth and generosity. When life brought changes, Hilda continued to find joy in the simple moments, especially in her wheelchair walks through the town of Aylmer, where she loved greeting familiar faces along the way. She will be lovingly remembered for her resilient spirit and her infectious laugh; a laugh that could brighten any room and uplift any heart.
Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 5-7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
