Kim Sheppard-Veldhuizen

Sheppard-Veldhuizen, Kim of Copenhagen passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. She was 81 years old. Beloved wife of 46 years to Aart Veldhuizen. Loving step-mother of Suzan Johnson(Peter), Ron Veldhuizen(Anita), Lorraine Councell(Danny) and Kathy Hayhoe(Ron). Sister of Jean(Carol), Vern (Sha), Alan(Shirley), Robin(Christy) and Kevin(Jo-Ann). Also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Born in Simcoe, Ontario on March 16, 1944, daughter of the late Earl and Marjorie(Robinson) Sheppard. Kim began her teaching career in London, Ontario before spending five memorable years in England on a teaching exchange. She later continued her passion for education in Norfolk County, where she finished her career. Kim was an active member of the Church of Christ in Corinth and shared her musical gifts as an organist for several congregations over the years. She had a love for travel and adventure, with one of her most meaningful experiences being her time volunteering in Israel. A memorial service will be held at the Woodhouse United Church(2154 Norfolk County Hwy 24, Simcoe, ON N0E 1W0) on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation-burial in the spring, Woodhouse United Church Cemetery.
