Al McMullen

Allister “Al” McMullen of Aylmer passed away peacefully at AgeCare Aylmer on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the age of 96. He is now reunited with the love of his life, his wife of 72 years, the late Theresa (LeClair) McMullen (2024). Dear brother-in-law of Jeannie MacKay. Cherished uncle to several nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brother Farkie McMullen, his sisters Catto McConnell (Jack) and Marg Milne (Jimmy) and many brother and sisters-in-law from the LeClair family.

Al was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on October 27, 1929, the son of the late Alex and Enid (Morrison) McMullen. He spent 30 years working at Jack McConnell’s Menswear, a career he truly enjoyed in the clothing business.

Al was an avid curler and longtime member of the Aylmer Curling Club. He also enjoyed golfing and was a member of Pleasant Valley and Ingersoll Golf Clubs, continuing to golf at Tillsonview and Eden Golf Clubs until the age of 92. He always enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Al and Theresa shared many memorable trips to Florida and British Columbia, but their favourite place to visit was always Cape Breton to spend time with family.

The funeral service will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 12:30–1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery. Donations to the Aylmer Area Community Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
