Raymond Dale Siple
June 15, 1931-September 09, 2021
Siple-Raymond passed away after a short stay in hospital in his 91st year. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years Helen (July 11, 2021). It seems he just couldn’t live without her so, barely 2 months after her passing, he has gone to be reunited with “mummy”. He leaves behind 5 children Cindy (Jim) Cockram of Ottawa, Christine (Bob) Haberer of Norwich, Allen (Amber) of Fingal, Connie (Kevin) Troutman of Cornwall and Richard (Margaret) of St. Thomas. His 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren will surely miss their “grandpa don’t”. Predeceased by his oldest grandson Justin Siple (July 11th, 2007). Ray was born in Sparta, Ontario, son of the late John Hume and Thurza Maria (Parish), he was also predeceased by brother Charles, sister Edna (Parker), brother Durward and infant brothers Donald and Kenneth.Ray was a lifelong farmer of Elgin County and an employee for many years with Belmont Farm Supply, known as “Razor”, and was well known to many area farmers who often asked for him by name for their deliveries. His absolute favourite thing was deer and moose hunting, then telling anyone at length about his experiences.
He and mom travelled a great deal throughout Canada and the U.S. They can now get to Alaska with their frequent flyer miles, then settle back at Elk Lake.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14th at 2:00pm. Interment to follow in Sparta Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Donations to be made to the “Crabby Old Farmers Fund” LOL, Charity Cat, or any animal charity of your choice as he was a great lover of cats and dogs.
