Ken White

It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth William Lloyd White of Aylmer announce his passing at the age of 85. Ken passed away at St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, November 12, 2023 with his family by his side.

Ken was the much loved husband of Karen White. The loving father and grandfather to: daughter Melanie Cockrill (Shelley) and her children Brittany, Haley, and Emily and son Kenneth Jr. (Melanie) and their children, Tyler(Taylor), Autumn, and Hunter. Ken was thrilled to the moon to become great-grandfather to Theo Kenneth White (son of Tyler and Taylor). Ken was the son of the late C. Albert White and late Leona R. White (nee Hill). He was born on September 5, 1938, at St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital.
Ken is survived by brother Robert “Bob” White and his wife Rose of R.R.#2, St. Thomas as well as sister-in-law, MaryLouise(David) of St. Thomas. He is predeceased by brother David White (2013) and sister Carol White (2022),
He was the owner/operator of Springwater Mills Ltd. for many years. He took pride in working as hard as he could, working well pass 70 yrs. of age until health forced him to retire.
He was the direct descendant of William & Susanna White of the 1620 Mayflower. William & Susanna’s second child, a son named Peregrine was the first known English child born to Pilgrims in America.
He was a member of Masons Malahide Lodge 140. Ken loved nature, and passed that on to family. He learned about nature first hand starting as a young boy roaming his beloved Springwater (in Elgin County) with his siblings and neighbourhood friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing when time and later health permitted. He was a member of East Elgin Sportsmen’s Association for many years including at one time being President.
He will be greatly missed also by furry four-legged friend, Ollie. Ken had a keen interest in politics and was never afraid to voice his opinion on the issues.

Until we meet again my Dear.
