Ernie Jones

Jones, Ernest B. “Ernie” of Belmont passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Barbara(Drummond) Jones(2017). Dear father of Kevin Jones(Cindy Wolter) of Edmonton and loving grandfather of Ashley(Jimmy) of Vancouver. Proud great-grandfather of Callum. Brother of Murriel(Don) and Harvey(late Helen) and brother-in-law of Ruth. He will be missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Alvin(Kitty) and Bill.  Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on October 23, 1933, son of the late Bill and Marion(Cope) Jones. Ernie worked in the meat department at the A&P. His greatest joy was going north to the cottage in Huntsville on Doe Lake. He was skilled in carving duck decoys. His passion in the last decade was playing shuffleboard with his good friends at the East Elgin Community Complex. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held. Cremation-burial, Aylmer Cemetery.
