Bill Den Harder

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce that on September 5, 2026, William (Bill) Den Harder went to be with his Lord and Saviour.

Born in The Hague, Netherlands, on November 23, 1949, he was the son of the late William and Anne Den Harder. Bill immigrated to Canada with his family in 1951.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Joanne; their five children, Allison (David), Mark, Teri-Lyn (Rob), Jenna (Greg), and Koralee (Dave); and his 13 cherished grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his big brother, John “Bud” Den Harder, and brothers-in-law John and Tim Pasma. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Marian (Peter) Mantel and Marianne (Henk) Noordam. He will also be dearly missed by his brothers- and sisters-in-law Sandra Den Harder, Jake and Marjorie Pasma, Keith and Judy Pasma, Ben and Linda Pasma, Margaret and Wilf Greidanus, Grace Pasma, and Joanne Pasma, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Known affectionately as “Billy D,” his family was one of his greatest blessings, and the love he gave them will continue through generations.

He worked many years at Imperial Leaf Tobacco before retiring in 2007. In retirement, Bill enjoyed spending his time working at Canada Life Place, where he could watch hockey, cheer on his beloved London Knights, and greet everyone who sat in his section with a smile. He loved his motorcycle rides and was proud to have ridden with Sea to Sea twice, raising funds and awareness to help end global poverty through World Renew.

Though our hearts are broken, we give thanks to God for the gift of Bill’s life, for the love he shared, and for the legacy of faith he leaves behind.

We take comfort in knowing that he is now home with his Lord and Saviour, surrounded by the eternal peace and love of God. While we will miss him deeply, we hold onto the promise that, through our faith in Christ, this separation is not forever.

Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 5-8:00 p.m. A public interment will take place at the Aylmer Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service which will follow at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
